Itinerary

At 8am, we will start our excursion by heading to Nosy komba or the island of lemurs, which is the second largest volcanic island of Madagascar, located between Nosy Be and the main island of Madagascar, and is also home of a huge array of wildlife. Once we arrive, we’ll walk to the Black Lemur Sanctuary where a guide will share his knowledge of these fascinating creatures. Learn how to spot the males and females as you watch them climb and lounge in the trees. Fruit treats will be provided should you wish to feed the lemurs, and if being with lemurs up-close is on your bucket list this is the place for you – they are quite friendly and comfortable with humans. The sanctuary also boasts snakes, tortoises, panther chameleons, lizards, spiders and millipedes. After the sanctuary visit, we will browse the village marketplace for island crafts including hand-embroidered tablecloths; then we will go to Nosy Tanikely.
Nosy Tanikely is 10km west of Nosy Komba. It is a protected marine reserve and one of the best snorkeling sites in the area. The shores of this uninhabited island are teaming with untouched corals, stingrays, turtles and plenty of fish alongside healthy reefs. Also keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, manta rays and whale sharks. We will have the opportunity to explore the island: snorkeling, visiting the museum where you may spot some brown lemurs on the way and enjoy the panoramic view of the islands from the lighthouse. We will have a BBQ lunch here and keep exploring and relaxing on the beach till we head back at 3pm.
